In order to keep abreast of the condition of the pneumatic cylinder(made by Pneumatic Cylinder Barrel) block, it is generally necessary to test for cracks by hydrostatic testing. The specific method is to connect the pneumatic cylinder head and the pneumatic cylinder block together, install the gasket, and then connect the front water port of the pneumatic cylinder block to the water outlet pipe joint of the hydraulic press. The specified pressure is then injected into the water jacket of the pneumatic cylinder block and maintained in this state for five minutes after the injection is complete.
During this time, if there are small water droplets on the outer wall of the pneumatic cylinder, it means there is a crack. In this case, it is necessary to repair the crack. So, what methods can be used to maintain it? Generally speaking, there are three ways. One is the bonding method, which is mainly suitable for the case where the stress at the crack generating site is small and the temperature is within 100°C.
Usually when repairing the pneumatic cylinder in this way, the main bonding material is epoxy resin. This is because the bonding force of this material is very strong, it basically does not shrink, and the fatigue performance is also good. When bonding with epoxy, the operation is very simple. However, when the temperature rises and the impact force is strong, it is recommended to use the welding repair method.
If it is found that the crack of the pneumatic cylinder block is relatively obvious, the stress on the position is relatively large, and the temperature is above 100 ℃, it is more appropriate to repair it by welding. Through welding repair, the quality of the repaired pneumatic cylinder will be higher.
There is another repair method called the blocking method, which is relatively new compared to the above two methods. Plugging agents are generally used to repair pneumatic cylinder (made by aluminum cylinder tube) cracks. In the actual repair of pneumatic cylinder block cracks, an appropriate repair method can be selected according to the specific damage situation.
